Step by step instructions
When you format a floppy disk, you are getting rid of everything on the disk.
Formatting also makes sure that the disk is free of errors and can be written to safely.
Please note, however, that formatting a floppy disk removes everything form it.
Only format a floppy disk when you are sure, you do not need anything on it.
Let us start...
Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.Double-click the My Computer icon from the Desktop.
Right-click the 31/2 floppy A drive icon, and select Format... from the menu that appears.
Click the Start button from the window that appears.
And now Formatting will begin.
You are ready to write again on the disk.
